We are headhunting an exceptional Senior Software Engineer to join the engineering team of an established South African enterprise software business serving customers internationally.

You’ll help build and evolve a sophisticated enterprise integration and automation platform, working across a C#/.NET backend and TypeScript/React web application, depending on your strengths and the requirements of the project.

This is not simply about writing features.

We’re looking for a senior engineer who enjoys getting inside a complex codebase, solving difficult technical problems and making intelligent decisions around architecture, performance, reliability, scalability and maintainability.

You’ll have genuine ownership across design, development, testing and production diagnostics.

• Design, build and maintain platform capabilities using C#/.NET and/or TypeScript and React.
• Work across different platform components and subsystem boundaries.
• Develop sophisticated workflow runtime capabilities with a strong focus on performance and diagnostics.
• Work with YAML workflow definitions and .NET assemblies.
• Build streaming connectors and data-processing components capable of handling large datasets efficiently.
• Solve challenges involving memory management, asynchronous processing, concurrency and failure recovery.
• Improve visual workflow and developer tooling, including SVG-based interactions.
• Contribute to source control and GitHub integrations.
• Build and maintain Azure integrations, including Key Vault and Storage.
• Work with authentication technologies including OpenID Connect and OAuth 2.0.
• Develop meaningful automated tests and participate in code reviews.
• Investigate complex production issues and resolve root causes rather than simply treating symptoms.
• Contribute to Azure DevOps YAML pipelines and Terraform-managed infrastructure.
• Use AI-assisted development tools while maintaining accountability for code quality, security and maintainability.

You’ll bring substantial professional software development experience with evidence of delivering and supporting complex production software at a senior level.

You should have deep expertise in at least one of:

C# / .NET

or

JavaScript / TypeScript / React

You don’t necessarily need to be equally strong across the entire stack, but you should be technically curious and willing to work across related technologies when required.

For engineers leaning towards backend development, we’re particularly interested in experience with:

You should understand how to build efficient systems that can process significant volumes of data while remaining reliable and diagnosable.
