We are looking for an experienced Senior Solution Engineer – Integration & Automation to join the Centre of Excellence of an established South African enterprise software business serving customers internationally.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing role combining business analysis, technical consulting, integration delivery, APIs, ERP systems and automation.

You will work directly with customers to understand their finance and operational processes, investigate the systems behind them and translate business requirements into reliable, maintainable integrations.

You will take ownership of solutions from discovery and requirements gathering through workflow design, configuration, build, testing, deployment and customer handover, working alongside a Solution Architect on more complex designs.

• Lead customer discovery and requirements workshops.
• Document existing business processes and identify integration and automation opportunities.
• Translate requirements into workflow designs, field mappings, transformation rules and acceptance criteria.
• Build and configure integration workflows, connections and APIs.
• Collaborate with Solution Architects on more complex technical designs.
• Investigate source and target systems using API documentation, Postman and SQL.
• Understand authentication requirements, data structures and application constraints.
• Implement appropriate data validation, error handling, retries and reconciliation.
• Test normal operation, edge cases and failure scenarios.
• Support customer acceptance testing and resolve defects before release.
• Prepare deployment, cutover and support documentation.
• Assist customers in operating and extending their integrations.
• Contribute reusable workflows, delivery best practices and product feedback to the Centre of Excellence.
• Use AI-assisted tools to accelerate analysis, mapping, development and documentation while ensuring accuracy and protecting customer information.

Relevant Experience

Ideally, you will have 4–6+ years of relevant experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Integration delivery
• Enterprise software implementation
• Technical consulting
• Business systems analysis
• API integration
• ERP and finance systems

Technical Skills

You should have practical working knowledge of:

REST APIs | JSON | XML | SQL | Postman | Data Mapping | Data Transformation | Validation

Enterprise Platform Experience

Experience with one or more enterprise platforms such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Sage or Syspro would be highly advantageous.

Customer & Consulting Skills

You must be comfortable engaging directly with finance, operations and IT stakeholders, leading customer workshops and translating business requirements into practical technical solutions.

Experience in any of the following would be beneficial:

• iPaaS or other integration platforms
• Low-code development
• SOAP and GraphQL
• OAuth 2.0 and webhooks
• Scripting and API development
• Data migrations
• Finance or HR transformation projects
• Manufacturing or eCommerce environments
• AI-enabled business processes

A relevant degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or Finance is preferred, although equivalent practical experience will be considered.
